Nepal–China Student Exchange Strengthens Academic, Cultural Ties at Modern School and College

Bhaktapur, July 27, 2026 — Modern School and College hosted 14 students from Hebei University of Economics and Business as part of the Nepal–China Summer Camp Exchange Program organized by Kathmandu University, providing a vibrant platform for academic interaction, cultural exchange and friendship between students of Nepal and China.

The visiting students received a warm traditional welcome with khada from students studying Chinese language at Modern School and College. The guests were then divided into two groups and participated in Hotel Management classes, where they engaged in interactive discussions and shared experiences about student life and education in Nepal and China.

The classroom sessions offered students an opportunity to explore similarities and differences between the two countries' education systems and lifestyles. The exchange became more engaging with songs from both Nepal and China, followed by small-group discussions that encouraged students to communicate more closely and develop meaningful friendships.

The cultural interaction extended beyond academics through friendly matches of football, badminton and table tennis. The sporting activities created an informal environment for students to interact, collaborate and enjoy each other's company.

The visiting Chinese students shared their impressions of student life in Nepal, noting that they found it comparatively more relaxed than in China. They also appreciated the role of extracurricular activities in creating a more enjoyable and stress-free learning environment.

The one-day exchange program served as an important platform for promoting mutual understanding, cultural appreciation and people-to-people connections between Nepal and China. It also demonstrated how educational exchanges can bring young people from different countries together and contribute to stronger friendship and cooperation beyond borders.
